New Research Suggests Delivering a Complete Digital Employee Experience is Essential in the Hybrid Workplace

The commissioned study, titled “Optimizing Digital Employee Experience for Anywhere Work,” conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of VMware, found that digital employee experience (DEX) is a critical component of how organizations embrace today’s hybrid Enabling the workforce, and a superior employee experience requires four integral components – experience delivery, experience measurement, analysis and remediation.

Accelerating DEX investment and adoption has become imperative as companies meet the challenges of the hybrid workplace. According to the study, 75% of respondents have made DEX a higher or top priority since the pandemic began. When asked about the top business priorities that require improved DEX, 80% of respondents strive to increase employee productivity. 75% hope a DEX solution can improve the overall employee experience and increase retention rates.

DEX insurance, everywhere

Investment in DEX solutions continues to grow as companies strive to improve employee satisfaction. While only 25% of respondents said they currently have a comprehensive DEX solution, a majority (nearly 60%) expect to implement one within 24 months. Additionally, 84% say their budget for DEX solutions will grow to 11-25% of their total IT budget over the next three years, showing the importance of finding a comprehensive solution that meets everyone’s needs staff supported.

Currently, two-thirds of respondents use three or more vendors to support their DEX journey. Using multiple vendors can compound the challenges of DEX integration by hampering root cause analysis and increasing the difficulty of evaluating DEX returns. This requires a holistic approach to DEX improvement. Two-thirds of respondents prefer comprehensive DEX solutions that can deliver successful deployment, monitoring, analytics, and remediation capabilities. It is important to integrate a DEX solution that covers all of these components to create a seamless employee experience.

In this study, Forrester conducted an online survey of 537 global decision-makers at director level or higher with responsibility for strategy, oversight, or implementation of Digital Employee Experience (DEX) to identify the challenges associated with DEX and opportunities for a holistic, integrated solution evaluate . The questions asked of the participants concerned the DEX challenges and opportunities of their organizations as well as their current and future plans for investing in DEX solutions. Respondents were offered a small incentive as a thank you for taking the time to complete the survey. The study started in February 2022 and was completed in March 2022.
